In the region of this Chelbessa coffee, high-quality coffee varieties grow in a geographically limited production area, with a unique and characteristic flavour, which is influenced by the soil type and local agricultural techniques.

The washing station is located in the village of Chelbessa, in the Yirgacheffe district of the Gedeo zone, 2,000 meters above sea level. The washing station was established in 2019 by the company SNAP. SNAP selects the picked, ripe, red cherries from 476 smallholders who cultivate the land around Chelbessa. The coffee is grown here in the shade of trees close to food crops such as bananas. SNAP has installed tiled fermentation tanks and 164 drying beds; 100 are for fully washed coffee and 64 for sun-dried coffee.

We roast this coffee as omni-roast, so it can be used for both espresso and filter.
